Become a Member!
All male and female descendants, lineal or collateral of those that served in the Confederate States Army, Navy and Marines to the end of the war, or who died in prison while in active service, or who were killed in battle, or who were honorably retired or discharged, or descendants of elected or appointed officials of the Confederate or Civil governments shall be eligible for membership in this general organization and its chapters. No member may be admitted to this general organization and its Chapters, Societies, and be granted full membership rights until satisfactory proof of the foregoing qualifications is submitted with an official application. A duplicate shall be presented by the chapter, and the original shall be forwarded to the General Headquarters for recording and preservation. The Chapter Parliamentarian will provide a copy of the bylaws to the new members as part of the membership packet.
There is no minimum age for membership, however, a member must be at least 18 years of age to vote or hold any office.

STEP 1: Step 1: Getting the Paperwork Started
We appreciate and are excited that you are interested in the Sons and Daughters of Confederate Veterans! But like any heritage/genealogical organization, we're going to need some information from you; if you need assistance in establishing your Confederate ancestry, we have a network of genealogists that can assist you. Once our Genealogist finds your Confederate ancestor(s), you'll get a formal invitation to join the SDCV!

NOTE: The life membership fee is subject to change without notice by the General Executive Council. Any changes in cost will not affect those who are already Life Members. National life memberships do not extend to state society and local chapter dues.
If you are unable to find your Confederate liniage or simply do not know, don't be discourage. You can still join the SDCV as an Associate Memebr.
